What We’re About
I am teaching individuals & small groups in the Las Vegas area for everyone from novice to more advanced sewers interested in learning more about clothing construction, quilting, or just getting familiar with their sewing machine. I can teach sewing lessons about everything from the very basics to more advanced techniques. I teach using patterns-how to read the instructions and implement them. Draping-a different technique, is not offered in this setting.
You can check out the various projects completed by myself and my students. Whether you want to sew a straight line, hem pants, make infant clothing, adult clothing including some lingerie, or even things for your home, this is the class for you.
Who Should Join
Newbies: If you know absolutely nothing about sewing, then this is the group for you. Instruction given includes helping to choose a sewing machine where needed, and basic notions and supplies within your budget. We even start with threading the machine!
Newbies to sewing will have several pre-planned projects to choose from and complete before we move on to items of your choosing. These are meant to teach you more about your machine’s abilities. I will be changing what those first projects are based on your interest level.
Advanced Sewers: If, on the other hand, you have experience with sewing, I can help you as well! I have experience with sewing for 40+ years, including serger work and some machine embroidery. Whatever has you stumped, I can probably help!
Whatever your experience level, please tell me about yourself and what you hope to get out of a class. We’ll tailor our projects based on what you want to learn.
Fees & Scheduling
Class Fees: Variable, see this page for more information. There will also be a flat fee for our initial shopping trip no matter how much time the two of us need for this. I am NOT out to break the bank, so hope you like that idea. We will be using as many coupons as possible and you will be shown ways to maximize your savings when shopping.
Schedule: Sewing lessons are held on a mutually agreeable schedule one or two times a week for 3 hours each session. Lessons in your home is my current offering for all.
Contact me via email for more information at your convenience. Include in your email best date and time for me to contact you as well as your phone number. FOR THE FASTEST RESPONE, PLEASE EMAIL OR CALL ME as response time is better than when you leave a message in the blog. I do not check the blog frequently. New students will be accepted once the two of us have spoken via phone. You may also reach me via my Facebook page at Las Vegas Sewing Instruction if you like.
How much easier can this get??
P.S. I’m a die hard bargain hunter for those first three projects!! And I hope you will be too!!
